Mortelmans - Homeric Symphony etc.

Having heard some of this CD I have to agree more with Nick than my old friend Rob Barnett. This is a pity, as I have been an enthusiast for Mortelmans ever since I heard some of his exquisite piano miniatures on a Belgian LP. A more recent issue on the Phaedra label ("In Flanders Fields Vol. 33") also included the shorter works that Brabbins and Hyperion have repeated, but more importantly there is a knock-out setting of Goethe's "Kennst du das Land" for soprano and orchestra - this issue should have been reviewed here.
I'm sure Hyperion could have found other items to fill out the present CD - Grove mentions a Romance for violin and orchestra, a Children's Suite, and a "Lady Macbeth Cantata" for soloists, chorus and orchestra!
