I know that the orchestra was transformed into the New Philharmonic Orchestra of Westphalia some years ago and has made some highly successful recordings of Bruckner under Wildner.
From Reichert's day there exists from time to time a highly credible performance of Bruckner 6. This came at a time when the recommended recording of this symphony was invariably that by Klemperer. All others seemed to varying degrees to be unidiomatic.
I have no evidence of any reviews of Reichert's Bruckner 6 from that time. I have found little if anything in the way of biographical detail regarding Hubert Reichert. Can anyone out there fill in a few details? Is he perhaps another shadowy Alfred Scholz figure about whom John Berky has provided a piece on his excellent Bruckner website?
