Does the score actually say "adagio molto sostenuto", Jonathan? Because my Lockenhaus collection on Philips gives the description of the last movement (played by the Ysa˙e) as "andante molto sostenuto". And the Ysa˙e take 5'49 over it, whereas the Brandis take 6'50 (and their label also says "andante", not adagio). Listening to the former as I write (what a delightful work this is!) I find they have judged the tempo sequence: Presto con fuoco, Allegro con moto, Allegro giocoso alla slovacca,Andante molto sostenuto - very well indeed; I cannot really imagine the last movement played much more slowly.
