Schoendorff: Hyperion CDA67854
Posted by Brian Wilson on October 27, 2011, 10:49 am
I'm pleased to see that Johan van Veen enjoyed Cinquecento's new Hyperion recording of Schoendorff - I made it my Discovery of the Month in my June 2011/1 Download Roundup: http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2011/June11/June11_1_DL_Roundup.htm
He queries the singing of 'Et incarnatus est' softly in the 'Credo'. It was until recently the practice in Roman Catholic and Anglican usage to kneel or bow at these solemn words, which may explain why Cinquecento do it.
Thank you for taking part in the MusicWeb International Forum.
