Thank you for your response. I obviously hear sung German differently from you. I can only repeat that listening to this recording I found myself losing contact with the shape and meaning of the lines, as I do not with Souzay, for example, another Francophone singer whose pronunciation as such is less idiomatic than Ms. Stutzmann's. I intended no insult to the latter, whose Handel I have enjoyed: my "seeing" referred to a passage in Goran's review; I do not imagine that the singer actually does sway etc, though there would be no shame involved if she did.
