Benjamin Romantic Fantasy

I was interested to read John Frances'review of the recent Dutton disc including this work. Curiously the liner of this disc links it to the Bax "In the Faery Hills" whereas the previous recording's liner (on Arte Nova) says the same main theme is derived from Mahler 4. I have no idea which is right although it sounds more like Mahler than Bax to me whatever the work's dedication. As an interesting footnote; when I worked for Ibbs & Tillet in the 1980's the one work more than any other Oscar Shumsky wanted to perform with his viola-playing son Eric was this Romantic Fantasy - now that WOULD have been an event!
