Beethoven's third (Oskar Fried)

I haven't heard the Pristine transfer, though Andrew Rose mostly delivers an excellent job. However I own the 78-set of Fried's performance and play it sometimes. It is amazing how 'good' (that is always a relative term, I agree) the sound could be at the end of the acoustic era, when compared to Nikisch's Beethoven of 1913, that I only know from an elder DG-reissue.
