A very minor remark on John Quinn's review of Standfords first symphony. He refers to a Standford-work named 'The prayer of Saint Francis interrupted by bells'. That could be an interesting starting point for a composition for an orchestra including lots of noisy percussion. However, as far as I know, the title of the work is 'The prayer of Saint Francis interrupted by the birds'.
