music from the eton choirbook review

I must beg to differ with Johan van Veen in his review last Wednesday of the Eton choirbook when he states that 'one doesn't expect text expression in this kind of music.' Thomas Morley Plaine an Easie Introduction, London 1597 p. 179 clearly states 'Ou church men.... ought to studie howe to vowell and sing clean, expressing their words with devotion and passion.'
