I don't understand, Josef, why you find that review "hilarious". In the phrase you pick on I believe all Steve Arloff is claiming is that only a very few Russian composers were fortunate to have their work heard in the West. Whether those unheard constituted dozens or hundreds is now something largely lost in history. I had discovered the merits of the Salmanov quartets before I read this review. But along with others who rate them highly I'm most grateful to Steve Arloff for drawing attention to them. In my case Steve was singing to the already converted, but nonetheless I found it an enlightening review and enjoyed reading it.
