You know, I've been meaning to investigate the Berglund, so thanks for the prod! Quite agree about the Kondrashin; all three versions of his Fourth -Moscow, Amsterdam and Dresden - are mandatory listening. And don't forget Raiskin and Wigglesworth.
As far as 'home-grown' talent is concerned I've been mightily impressed by three recent concerts - Thomas Sondergard/BBCNOW (8 & 11) and Mark Elder/Halle (7). The latter, although a bit scrappy, was utterly compelling. More Shostakovich from these two would be most welcome.
