Taken from web definition.com: "playright (plural playrights) (law, dated) The exclusive right to perform a dramatic work 1912, Richard Rogers Bowker, Copyright, Its History and Its Uses, page 162: Copyright in the specific sense is, however, of less importance to the dramatic author than playright or performing right."
Although this applies clearly to theatrical work my understanding is that is can be used in the context of recordings, musical or other, too.
