You're being very gracious about this (not). According to my encyclopaedia, the P in a circle stands for 'phonogram', first introduced into law in 1971. According to the OED, the term 'playright' is 'Obs.', having been out of use for over a hundred years, and then only ever referring to proprietary right of performance.
So as well as being obscure, you're also plain (P) wrong.
