Brahms vs Bruckner
Posted by George on May 27, 2014, 4:20 pm
If one had to visit zum Roten Igel,(long since pulled down) the café in Wien frequented by Brahms and sometimes Bruckner, I think one would have more fun in Brahms corner. He seemed to like a beer and a smoke much like the UKIP bloke Nigel Farage. Bruckner on the other hand was a bloke full of angst, without much humour. I gather on one occasion they actually met they agreed on one topic, they both ordered Knodel mit Speck! I see the café now has been recreated again and is a concert venue.
