Walton Viola Concerto - Bashmet

To answer my colleague Jonathan Woolf's query about the "mystery" Bashmet/Walton extended scherzo. I think its a good old fashioned editing mistake. All is fine until the recapitulation - figure 33 in standard OUP score. At that point the performance jumps back to bar 2 of the 2nd movement and we get exactly the same music again. Not just the same dots but the same actual performance - so the editor has managed to drop in the exposition instead of the recapitulation. We then get ALL of the movement for a second time hence nearly doubling the length. I am certain this is a technical error and no kind of artistic decision by the performers. I'm surprised no-one noticed it at the pre-production stage though.
