It's all subjective, of course. I think Einstein on the Beach is brilliant (not all of it, but most). But I saw it live, at BAM in 1984. I love his solo piano works; the old ones, not as much the newer etudes. And there are a number of compositions among his overly vast oeuvre that are pretty good. But I agree that, for the most part, he's become a copy machine.
