"Expressed it perfectly"? Well - if I may be permitted the luxury of picking a nit - not quite! For JF's admission to be described as a "howler", the said admission would have to be made mistakenly, and (properly speaking), the mistake should also have been funny, at least to those with fair to middling senses of humour.
For what it's worth: what if John had left out his admission? Would anyone have even noticed in his review any shortcoming consequent on his lack of "a priori" knowledge?
Personally, I'm just glad that John has at last encountered Michala's name, fame and artistry - it must have made his day!
Now, can we stop bickering over what really adds up to summat and nowt?
