I do have a pair of ears in fairly good working order, and I've been an avid CD collector for a long time - I know what a poor recording sounds like and this, by modern standards, was one. I certainly did not "so misrepresent" the recording.
I agree of course that tastes and values differ, and there will be those that value the rare music over the poor audio. But I think it's quite silly to believe that Wordsworth's symphonies will never get another (better) recording - not when I look at my shelves and see all the totally unexpected music that has already appeared!
The point of my message was to get another point of view out there in Musciweb land - one that has now become clearer from some of the comments on my post too.
Now, will this get past the censor?
