Please may I make a correction of a statement your reviewer made in connection with the reissue of Bartok's orchestral works conducted by Solti. He writes how extraordinary it is that Decca have never before published the 1963 recording of Music for Strings, Percussion and Celesta. Not only strange, but untrue. The LP was released in 1964, coupled with The Miraculous Mandarin. I should know,I played the piano part. I was the third pianist asked to do it and the first one to survive the stormy drive. Your reviewer even speculated if the reason for suppressing this recording was because it was not up to standard. but happily he was able to ascertain otherwise. Even the artwork for the cover remained the same. A remarkable and much respected historic recording.
