Wow!My MusicWeb colleague Marc Bridle does a real hatchet job on this recording, yet my own upcoming review will make it clear that I found this to be a wonderful experience. I do not for one minute disparage Marc's judgement; it's simply that to a great extent we are clearly hearing the same things and reacting very differently. I am merely remarking that the disparity between our reviews illustrates that for all our rationation, one's reaction to performance can be a very subjective thing. Those who care to reads both our reviews - when mine appears - will simply have to decide for themselves and accept our joint apology for the lack of consonance; that's the joy of reviewing for MusicWeb.
