There must be some hope that the Symphony No.4-which is a particularly fine work-and perhaps the later Symphonies Nos. 7-10 can re-emerge. Certainly Nos. 4, 7, 8 and 9 were broadcast during the period when Richard Itter was making his off-air recordings.
It is ironic that the Cardiff home of the BBC National Orchestra of Wales is now named the Hoddinott Hall yet only four of the ten symphonies are on disc and the most recently recorded and released on cd was the 6th as far back as 1989.
