In reference to Dave Billinge's review posted 3 Aug 2017: no, nothing has changed in the microphone placement or equipment for the 5.0 surround sound recordings in the Basilica of St. Florian, Austria. I use 5 Neumann omnidirectional microphones, feeding the multichannel high resolution digital recorder, with no volume manipulation, equalization, or any other alteration of the sound received at the microphone. The microphones are positioned as close as possible to the exact locations I determined in 2014 for Symphony 8, my first recording. And I will use the same arrangement for Symphony 5 on 18 Aug 2017.
