Re: Copland's Third Symphony

My first version of Copland's 3rd was the Minneapolis Symphony under Antal Dorati, recorded in 1953 on Mercury. It was coupled with Harris's 3rd and Copland's Quiet City, and was a reissue when I bought it in the mid-1960s. I've heard all the versions mentioned in other posts and own some of them, but for me the old Dorati version has an intensity that's lacking in the others. I was delighted to discover it's available as a download from Presto Classical. It contains only the symphony so is rather expensive, but it still sounds terrific!
