No issue with the second part of the statement, but the first recording of this work was set down seven years earlier, in June 1945, by the City of Birmingham Orchestra conducted by George Weldon. It can be checked out on YouTube by those interested. Though I wouldn't deny that Sejna and the Czech PO outshone this first effort (and have scarcely been outshone since), Weldon and his orchestra unfailingly convey the spirit of this glorious work.
