Re: Misinformation from BIS Records
Yes, I agree, mastering a recording far short of peak can at least be remedied, but mastering a recording ABOVE peak and then simply "trimming off" the over-peak parts constitutes irreparable damage. (Capriccio did this with most of their Shostakovich-Kitayenko-Cologne cycle, very sadly.)
