Many thanks for the info about Thomas Sanderling. Clearly, I've not persuaded you that the 11th is a pretty good piece, as are the 7th and 12th. More than most, these symphonies need conductors who really believe in them; to that end, I'd recommend Paavo Järvi in the Leningrad and Mark Wigglesworth in the other two. If these performances don't convert you, then nothing will!
Funnily enough, I still find the Sixth a tough nut to crack...
