I very much enjoyed reading John Quinn's review of the release by SWR Classics of Suk's Asrael Symphony, conducited by Karel Ancerl - thank you! In addition to the other recommendable recordings listed, I would also add Claus Peter Flor's on BIS with the Malaysian PO, a performance which I only began to truly respect and appreciate after several hearings and a/b comparisons.
That said, Mr Quinn would undoubtedly be delighted to know that the live performance he mentioned that Ancerl gave of this work with the Cleveland Orchestra on 2nd October 1971, does occasionally surface on exotic labels. A somewhat more "urgent" performance than the norm (and judging by the timings, perhaps slightly more so than with the recording reviewed with the Baden-Baden orchestra), you can also hear it here:
