Re: Last place among over 200 Bruckner 4ths?
Thanks, Lee. Yes, I have the Komwhisky Bruckner 2 and always loved it. I have always respected people who are able to change their minds. Unfortunately we live in an age - sadly again - where dogma rules, hence the reprehensible actions of certain countries and certain lunatic individuals. The ability to see something for the first time is not only illumination and quite often thrilling, it's also a symptom of freedom.Nothing thrills me more than being freed from a long held belief which has hindered my appreciation of something, whether it be music, literature or, most importantly, a political or 'social' or religious belief. In my case, recently I reread Celine's 'Long Day's Journey into the night' and whereas I had once had relegated Celine to just another Anti-Semite status, I now regard this book as the best anti war book ever written. And the Lord only knows how much we need books like these. I look forward to 'tasting' the Karajan recordings again.
