Re: John Quinn's review of Mahler's "Titan" by Roth
There is another recording of the 1893 Hamburg version, from the Netherlands Symphony Orchestra and Jan Willem de Vriend (Challenge Classics CC72355). That and the Hengelbrock are considered in Dan Morgan's forthcoming review of the Roth. Without giving too much away, neither dents his considerable admiration for the new recording. Having given that a very paltry welcome in my latest round-up, I expect to add something more fulsome next time.
