Hi David, there are indeed four more sonatas Op. 42,as well as a lot of other music for solo violin that Renate Eggerbrecht has recorded in a complete survey, add to this her fine recordings of the chamber music with piano, and she proves herself as something
of a Reger expert! Each disc has something to offer the listener, with many an excellent of this fine music under her bow!
Stuart Sillitoe's review of Renate Eggebrecht's recording refers to 7 sonatas, Op. 91, but the copy of the recording shown is of 4 sonatas, Op. 42. I'm unacquainted with this music - can someone clarify for me if Reger did indeed compose two sets of sonatas, making 11 in all? Did Eggebrecht record both sets?
