Hello - I've been terribly slow to discover your surveys but they're bookmarked now! So useful, as I've got an Idagio sub and sometimes the range of recordings on offer is overwhelming.
Today I fancied Traviata with Callas and plumped for Giulini because I'm also a di Stefano fan (brought up on the Serafin). But it caused me to search for reviews to find out which other recordings might be worth a listen which led me to your splendid comparison. I'll certainly be trying a number of your other recommendations too.
I was also pleased to find that the Mackerras/ENO recording was available - back in the day I taped a broadcast of Traviata from ENO with Masterson and played it so often that parts of the English libretto are embedded in my memory. (Same is true of Aida and Massenet's Manon.)
Thanks again.
