While Paul Shoemaker is of course entitled to his dismissive opinion of Copland's orchestral music, his case is not exactly helped by citing non-existent works. 'Spirituals for orchestra'?! Whoever wrote this piece, admired by Mr Shoemaker apparently, it certainly wasn't Copland!
