Translation error in M. Cookson's review Posted by Randy on September 16, 2006, 12:49 pm 207.195.97.125 http://www.musicweb-international.com/classrev/2004/May04/Mendelssohn_choral_brilliant.htm "Unfortunately the annotation [of this Mendelssohn choral CD] has plenty of mistakes with particularly poor translations and the texts do not have English translations." There is also one particularly mistaken translation in the review itself: Mendelssohn's Psalm 42 "Wie der Hirsch schreit" is *not* "As the heart beats" but "As the hart [as in, deer] pants."  Post a Response
