I am sorry to have raised your hopes of a lost Richter recording. On reflection, I had conflated two CDs in my collection in my mind: Richter's Faschingsschwank aus Wien Op.26 and Carnival Op.9 as played by Richter's protégé, Andrei Gavrilov (EMI 5730062). Gavrilov's approach is powerful and Richter-esque, but he is not Richter. My apologies for the error. The amended review will be up shortly.  Post a Response
