The answer depends on what sort of thing you're after. This may be why you haven't had any response. If it's just a broad, "beginner's" selection of Rossini "good bits", stuff like overtures, arias, piano pieces etc., the you could do worse than start with the EMI Classics 2-CD set of "The Best of Rossini". It features some fine performers and recordings, some of them "vintage", in a nicely-mixed programme. Maybe this is worth a try? You can get a second-hand copy quite cheaply via Amazon.co.uk, so the financial risk is low! If this doesn't suit you, try posting a more specific request.  Post a Response
