A couple of pieces from Beecham's recording of Faure's Dolly Suite and Sir Charles Groves' recording of The Young Person's Guide were added as generous couplings. I think this range of discs (which included the Adrian Boult Brahms cycle that was reviewed on this site) may have been deleted, but there is a chance that a few stray copies may still be out there.  Post a Response

A few more details on the Donald Swann website: http://www.donaldswann.co.uk/MF-LPs.htm 1989 was another country of course - I moved to The Netherlands in 1987 and hadn't even realised the Winters version existed - this kind of English language stuff not being high on lists of 'hits' in Holland. Nice try, but to me still a horribly misguided way of cheaply re-animating an existing classic recording. I know, let's digitally re-master 'The Clangers' and make it popular with the kidz by wiping Oliver Postgate and substituting Snoop Dog.... No, it's fine, really...  Post a Response
