List of Classical AAD mastered CD Recordings Posted by Simon Briggs on April 30, 2008, 6:49 pm 86.164.2.190 One question I hope members could assist me with. I am searching for analogue classical recordings on CD and am aware that some early Philips and Decca discs were AAD mastered. Does a list of AAD discs exist? What I would like to know is anyone on this board aware of the existence of such a list recordings and could you direct me to one? Many Thanks Simon Briggs  Post a Response

Another label which I know is AAD is Continuum - at least, those on their catalogue which came from the Altarus LP label. The Messiaen 'Vingt Regards' played by Malcolm Troup (for instance) doesn't say anything about As or Ds, but Chris Rice the engineer did all the editing from analogue master tapes.  Post a Response

However, I did buy a set of the Beethoven Piano Concerti performed by Fleisher with the Cleveland Orchestra conducted by Szell, which is marked AAD. These transfers sound marginally richer in the bottom registers than the set marked ADD which I also own. Both are US Columbia releases.  Post a Response
