The piano music of Mackenzie
Posted by Peter Shott on May 13, 2020, 4:33 pm
After reading John France's enthusiastic review of the first volume of Mackenzie's piano music performed by Christopher Howell I'm quite itching to lay my hands on a copy of the CD. Frequent visitors to my CD player are the three CDs devoted to Stanford. Howell's performances there seem to me wonderful, the recordings themselves are top notch, and I gained much from the detailed notes provided in the booklets accompanying these CDs. I'm sure the Mackenzie project will share those characteristics and will be equally welcomed and appreciated.
Alas, on the links provided on John France's review it looks as if all that is available is a download. Compare me to someone who has just discovered a can-opener if you will, but I positively do not want a download and demand instead a good, hard, physical CD.
Is there any way in which Sheva CDs, and this one in particular, could be made available through MusicWeb?
I did indeed sell Sheva discs through MusicWeb until I retired and cut down on the work. Once the lockdown has finished I suspect he CDs will reappear. No-one is available at the moment to press them and print the booklets. You can order from the Sheva website. They may have some hard copies in stock http://www.shevacollection.co.uk/
