Samuel F. Brown 86 of Douglasville passed away Wednesday, January 6th in Hershey Medical Center. Widower of Eleanor Leona(Simon) Brown who passed away in 1965 and Gloria Mason Brown who passed away in 1974. Born in Phila. to John T. Brown and Mary m Kutzbeck Brown. He served in the Army and was the recipient of a purple heart and fought in WWII on the beaches of Normandy to Berlin. Upon leavingthe military he obtained a position as a Pa. State Policeman. Later hewas in welding and fabrication for numerous companies on the east coast and overseas. After retiring he worked for CNA insurance for over 10 years. In Normandy 2003, he received the Legion of Honor award from President Bush and also from the President of France. He was a 4th degree Knight, a member of the Knights of Columbus, Shillington and an honor guard is to be provided during the servics.
Surviving is one son, Randall L. Brown and wife Diane of Olathe, Kansas. Two daughters, Sandra Beierschmitt of California and Andrea Frees of Douglasville. Also 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a grandson.
Funeral Services will be Wednesday, January 13th at 11:00 am at Milkens Funeral Home 4913 Kutztown Rd., Temple, Pa . In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made the the Animal Rescue League, PO Box 69, Mohnton, Pa. 19540.
