Posted by Dayton Turner It is possible that he was in the 743rd which seems to be the only other U.S. unit which successfully beached any number of tanks on D-Day. Does there remain anyone who may have served with him and remembers him?

My brother, 1st Lt. Donald Floyd Turner, was a tank commander who died in action on D-Day. The family story is that he was killed shortly after having landed when he raised up out of his tank to signal his column forward. I have been unable to acertain which unit he served in. I have contacted someone in the 746th which landed at Utah Beach, but he is not listed as having served with that unit.
