Posted by Karen Duncan-Moretti It would be terrific if I could get some assistance from the remaining members (or their families) of the 743rd on two things. If depositing my dad's papers at the Camp Blanding Museum sees to you all as a good idea, then I would include all the information I receive in that donation. I would really enjoy hearing from you all, in the memory of my very special dad. Thank you, Karen Duncan-Moretti

My dad was (Lt.) Col William Darien Duncan, of the 743rd Tank Battalion. He died in January of 2001. When my mom died last November, we found boxes of after-action reports and other information my dad had from the war. I know about the books 'Move Out: Verify', and 'Barbara', and that reunions used to be held. But dad did not talk to his daughters about the details of the war, so our information is sketchy.
1) Camp Blanding, outside Jacksonville, Florida, has a museum for the 30th Infantry Division, and a man from that museum called to ask if dad's papers for the 743rd could be donated to their museum. I would like to know if the remaining members (or families) think that this is an appropriate way to handle these papers or if they should reside somewhere else.
2) I am trying to organize my father's papers into a coherent whole. I would like to try to use these papers to put together the story of the men of the 743rd (and perhaps the memories of their wives and sweethearts waiting at home), another side of the 743rd's history that has not been told, to my knowledge. If anyone out there could send me papers, news articles or letters to help tell this story, I would really appreciate it.
