I have always been interested in General Cota's ethnic backgroud.
I live in Santa Barbara California, a city deep with Hispanic culture. The name Cota is very big here with many of the descendents who seattled the city Cota. We even have a street called Cota.
I have a friend name Norman Cota who lives near by, and he says that from time to time he receives calls inquiring if he is realted to Gen.Cota, and he says he isn't.
It was very interesting to see that the Cota's had a General in World War II before their was affirmative action.
My Uncle, who was in Normandy a few days a D DAY, told me he had heard of a Cota who was a general, but didn't know much.
I see books on D Day and read about General Cota, but never found one that talks about his ethnic background.
Can any one give me insight into this famous person background?
