If any of you are out there visiting this site, I wish to say Hi. My dad, Richard M.Rairdon was a member of your outfit. He died 3 years ago and there are many things I wish I had asked him. I know he landed on Utah beach on "D-Day + 8" as he called it. I know he helped to capture and open Cherbourg, the first port open in France. I visited the Normandy beaches four years ago with my daughters and we took him home sand from the beaches. He had tears when he saw pictures of his daughter and grand-daughters standing on those beaches. He was captured shortly before or at the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge. He spent Nov.-to April in a POW camp. I really would like to correspond with someone from this division, or someone who knew Dad. Thank you, Robin Rairdon Borchers
