Hey Marty. What's Up? Long time no see. I saw your posting on here and just wanted to let you know that my band Diamante did a commercial release this year (2005) that is available throughout the USA. We have had the good fortune of having Mr. Chano Elizondo of C.E. Distributors in San Antonio distribute it for us throughout Texas. It is brand new material, not remakes of someone else's material. It is available on Tejano Classics.com Get in touch with me and I will get you a CD. I know what you mean by a lot of the old bands re-recording the same material over and over again. There are fresh artists with fresh music that deserve the lime light like Stefani Montiel, Shelly Lares, Elida Reyna, Avizzo etc... So I agree with you in saying enough of trying to sell the same music over and over and over again. This is the 21st Century now and it is time for a change. Maybe that will revive the Tejano music industry. I also think that the genre name for the music should be changed because it is no longer proprietary to just Tejas as the name "Tejano" implies. There are many many talented artists and groups from all over the USA now such as Megan Leyva, Patricia y Carino Musical from Detroit Michigan, Tejano Skyz from Washington etc.. and I think the official name of the genre should be called La Onda as David Marez says. Unfortunately it is hard to get support for "Tejano" bands with fresh new music and a new and different sound here in KC and hard to get airplay in Texas if you are not from Texas. Therefore we have had to switch formats and go back to the American music scene once again in order to find enough work. We could easily switch back to La Onda again if the support is there.
: Well, here's my opinion. Instead of buying
: this cd, get out your Old Sunny Ozuna and
: Tierra Tejana albums and you'll have most of
: the songs on this cd. I was disappointed in
: the song selection. Nothing new or fresh,
: sure Bob's production and engineering was
: 1st class. Isn't it always? This cd tells me
: that Little Joe has decided to live off his
: past. I'll crank up my old Little Joe
: albums, too remind me of the days when he
: was a pioneer and not a follower. Marty B.

: Little Joe is back! This is the best CD of
: the year to me. Puro old school in 2005.
: Heavy brass with that happy beat that makes
: one want to dance and throw a grito. Thank
: you Little Joe y La Familia and Bob Gallarza
: for La Onda Chicana at it's best!
