Posted by Ray Flores The wife and I went to the Chanute, Kansas Mexican Fiesta. This event has been going on for years and this town has lots of friendly people. Friday night the outdoor party starts at Santa Fe Park at 7PM with speeches and introduction of this years Queen and her Court then dancers then TEJANO MUSIC starts at 9PM until 1AM. Saturday morning at 10AM a program with DJ music, dancers, street venders and local downtown stores offering special prices just a great time for everyone. Saturday night the program starts again at Santa Fe Park at 4:30PM with a live band and then at 7PM the fiesta program with speeches etc. Then at 9PM the band starts playing Tejano Music and people are everywhere dancing, talking, enjoying themselfs, the weather was outsanding, food venders keeping everyone happy and just everyone having a great time. The music stopped at 1AM but as always Chanute being a party town, they passed the hat for another hour and the band play on. The music finally stopped at about 2 hours later. What a weekend. Well, I don't write much here on the old school page but this I couldn't let go. What a weekend. Thanks Chanute, your a town that likes to party. RPF in Kansas
