This music Biz never ceases to amaze me,
Why in the world would a conglomerate like Univision Radio or Border Media Partners refuse to play artists from the Tejano Genre? I have had to study this issue because if they don't play these artists there has to be a reason!
And it needs to be investigated thorougly because if it is a case of Tejano being considered a lower class of music or Tejanos not being worthy to get airplay on these stations something is terribly wrong and our own brown brothers have inherited some kind of elite attitude that needs to be dealt with.
There is a lot of music that comes from different genres in Mexico and other countries south of the border and the carribean that are on a par with a lot of the recordings from Texas...........and a lot that don't even hold a candle to what comes out of Texas.
Yet they have no trouble getting airplay. I remember playing to thousands of Mejicanos when I was a member of the Latinaires, La Familia, and Tortilla Factory all over the USA and they loved us............. the lies that the Lou Dobbs media
dogs are giving everybody is sooooooo wrong, Latinos of all kinds have been working and partying since I can remember which is 50 years in the entertainment Biz. There is something very wrong if they are refusing to give any Texas artist airplay. When one Mejicano thinks he is better than the next
.......................Hijole! what's next?..........Mejicanos with swastikas and white Sheets?.........I will ask someone in the senate and the congress to look into this because this is a VERY SERIOUS MATTER AND [WE] Need to get it resolved right away.
