Posted by Johnny Sanchez It appears that Joe Revelez and Anthony Hernandez, two of Tejano music's best studio musicians, have formed Los Dudes once again. I have no word on whether or not we can see a new album in the near future, but their reteaming and this compilation CD is a good sign. Those of you not familiar with Los Dudes, well, their sound was very polished and jazzy. Both gentlemen are accomplished keyboardists. I know I've seen Anthony Hernandez's name on Tejano albums before; Joe Revelez has played with Mayo de Al "Chato" Chavarria and Joe Posada, to name a few. He was also a Manny Records studio musician. All the big hits are here! "Vuelve A Mi"; "Tu Pagaras"; "Albricias"; "La Casa Se Va Caer"; and 9 other tracks. Unfortunately, the "Dudes Six-Pack" wasn't included in this compilation, but hopefully a future comp will follow. It seems that some of the former CBS artists have gotten the rights to their music, but I only know of Joe Posada and Los Dudes. The remasters may not be distributed at such a vast level - I got this copy at Janie's in San Antonio - but at least this music is getting back in the hands of the artists. JOHNNY SANCHEZ

Lamentably, this isn't either of the two Dudes LPs, "The Music Pack Album" or "El Vino Y Tu," but it's a compilation of the biggest tracks from the two albums. And it sounds good!
