His powers seem to revolve around manipulating gravity to enhance his punches (as you mention), but also to mess with gravity in other ways (as regards other objects).
I'm not sure what serious repercussions it would lead to, any more than Storm messing with weather would cause serious repercussions or Magneto the magnetic field.
Sigh ... we never really got a chance to see them investigate this further, given how he's now the "protector of the universe" and bound to have all sorts of cosmic abilities.
