I have read comcis since about 1973 and there are two things about that mini that surprised me:
A) The first time I read it, it never occurred to me the inspirationhad to have been Black Canary and Green Arrow. The two characters just clicked so instantly that I forgot about the torch Clint had had for Wanda when I started reading or the past with Black Widow that I learned about in Marvel Triple Action. Even afterwards, I think Clint's relationships with Karla Sofen or Janet Van Dyne flatlined so badly because we saw t he high water mark his character could achieve with the right partner!
2) That ending! How long did Scarlet Witch and her version of the Vision do their courstship dance? Even Invisible Girl and Mister Fantastic, who had no others accept a minor Sub-Mariner spoiler, took longer than those two. What made it more amazing was that it felt so damn right! Certainly more right than Roy Thomas' ridiculous decision to off Bobbi...
