overall a good issue. i was kind of glad to see mock's mom survive...it would have been unfortunate to introduce her just to knock her off. i always tend to think there is so much more potential in a living character, and killing anyone in comics is a lame attention grabber and almost always gets reversed somehow.
i like mock setting hawkeye in line about who's in charge...but i don't see hawkeye taking it for too long if he's written in character. he's starting to seem a little like a whipping boy in this issue.
so it took hawk only 3 issues to smack dom? hawkeye has to fight virtually every male friend he has ever had! it always seems like he has to throw down with them...then he respects them...i wouldn't be surprised to see a slow respect grow....provided dom stays away from mockingbird.
crossfire and P.R. still seem kinda goofy to me overall, but came off ok in this one. glad to seee crossfire acknowledge "trading up" and getting rid of the juggling act.
ok...we know they got out...but how? and who broke the mind control first?
and another question? i didn't mind hawkeye pulling the swords...but in this situation, it made no sense...he still had his bow....and his arsenal of trick arrows will handle much more than "bullet proof!" jmo, but he shoulda lost his bow (dropped/damaged) to pull out the blades, otherwise it makes no tactical sense.
love to see others thoughts...

: And the fabulousness continues with my current
: favorite comic!
:
: Last issue, Crossfire appeared to have
: assassinated Mockingbird's mother, Susan,
: but this issue we find out she is still
: alive, although in critical condition. Whew!
: According to McCann in the letter's page, he
: debated back and forth to kill her or keep
: her but ultimately decided to keep her
: because the plot would benefit more if she
: were still alive. Instead of giving Bobbi a
: third reason to fly off the rails, we will
: be treated to more of the rocky relationship
: between mother and daughter, as well as the
: mystery of who Bobbi's seemingly important
: father really is (for some reason I think
: it's Captain America, but that would be
: foolish).
:
: Meanwhile, Bobbi still flies off the handle
: anyway, blaming Clint for putting her mother
: in the line of fire. Of course, she also
: blames Crossfire and Phantom Rider and
: immediately recruits Dominic Fortune in her
: search to nail the two scumbags. In the
: process, Clint discovers Bobbi's secret
: armory and learns she sells what she doesn't
: keep to friendly allies. When Clint makes
: noise about it, Bobbi basically tells Clint
: that if he doesn't like it he can %$%#&
: the hell off. The W.C.A. is her show. She's
: the boss.
:
: Before long, Mockingbird, Hawkeye, and
: Dominic Fortune track down Crossfire and the
: Phantom Rider and proceed to beat the living
: hell out of all his goons and crap. Hawkeye
: is taking it easy, but boy is Bobbi pissed
: off and boy does Dominic like it. And then
: comes Crossfire's new, upgraded Death
: T.H.R.O.W.s, these robot bastards he's using
: now instead of those other guys. However,
: things take a turn for the worse when
: Crossfire uses mind control to take control
: of Hawkeye and Dominic Fortune, forcing them
: both to shoot each other in the heart. BIFF!
: Fortune gets an arrow in the chest. BAM!
: Hawkeye gets plugged in the chest.
: Mockingbird, paralyzed by one of the Phantom
: Rider's bullets, has to watch it all in
: horror, just before Crossfire blows the
: place up (with he and the Phantom Rider
: walking away as everything goes ker-blewy!).
:
: And on an interesting note, just before the
: big throwdown, we learn that Crossfire has a
: benefactor, that who he is really working
: for is ten times meaner than he is.
: Hmmm....mystery mastermind time again! :D
:
: Love this title. Action packed. Lots of
: characterization. Great art. Very old
: school. Like reading an old WCA title.
:
: And McCann says in issue #6 that Mockingbird
: will be going to the Savage Land to take on
: some leftover damn dirty Skrulls. Hopefully
: Ka-Zar, her ex-boyfriend, will be around.
: Should be fun. After that, the crossover
: with the Black Widow!
